Very often I receive inquiries about doing liposuction and combine it with another cosmetic surgery, like breast enlargement for example. People don’t want to waist their time on two separate surgeries and try to achieve as much as they can during one visit.They are surprised and disappointed hearing that combining liposuction with another plastic surgery is not always possible. Some of them give up my services and start looking for another clinic. It’s unfortunate that some clinics cannot resist temptation of servicing a patient with two surgeries at then same time and take the risk – but that’s not a point. The reason why liposuction usually cannot be combined with another cosmetic surgery is that during liposuction surgery anaesthetist usually administers Heparin - anticoagulant, preventing the formation of clots and extension of existing clots within the blood. Heparin simply dilutes the blood which allows to carry out liposuction surgery but at the same time this diluted blood is a serious contradiction in case of many other surgeries, like breast enlargement, tummy tuck, face lifting, etc.
All people considering making more than one cosmetic surgery at the same time should be very careful if one of these surgeries is liposuction.
